WHS Announces Launch of STEM Initiatives with U.S. Secret Service

WHS is proud to announce our first Science, Technology, Engineering, Math event in cooperation with the United States Secret Service!

Women in Homeland Security and the US Secret Service (USSS) Forensic Service Division (FSD) invite you to the launch of WHS’ STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) program! We invite you to join us for a fascinating tour of the world of forensic science – at the United States Secret Service forensic science lab!

Featuring:

Deborah Leben
Director, U.S. Secret Service Lab

The tour is has been designed, and is open to parents and children (grades 6-8).
The tour will include the following, as time permits:
– Forensic presentation of fingerprints, handwriting, ink analysis, and identity documents
– Forensic photography
– Computer forensics
– Dangers of social media
– Presentation on the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children exclusively for parents
– Electronic fingerprinting of children (parents must sign authorization forms and will receive printed fingerprints)
– Laboratory tour
